Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks
Makes 6 breadsticks
For the dough:
1-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 cup warm water (approximately 105-110 degrees)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups – 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- Place the yeast and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Add the warm water, and let sit for 5 minutes to let the yeast proof. Add the salt and gradually add in all of the flour, mixing with the dough hook until well kneaded, 4-5 minutes.
- Drizzle the melted butter all over a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or aluminum foil. Mix together the parmesan cheese, garlic powder, garlic salt, oregano, basil, and parsley.
- Divide the dough into 6 portions (eyeball this or use a kitchen scale). Roll the dough into breadsticks and place them on the baking sheet. Roll the breadsticks in butter. Top the breadsticks evenly with the breadstick mixture. Cover the breadsticks with a towel or plastic wrap, and allow them to rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Take the towel or plastic wrap off of the breadsticks, place in the oven, and bake for 18-20 minutes.
